The Maelstrom is a world event featuring:

• timed activation windows
• progressive enemy waves
• boss encounters
• contribution tracking that impacts rewards

The event can be run:

• on a schedule (automatic)

Default timing:

• Event Duration: 2 hours
• Event Interval: 6 hours

The event progresses through multiple waves with kill quotas:

• Wave 1: 60 kills
• Wave 2: 45 kills
• Wave 3: 33 kills
• Wave 4: 25 kills

Boss phases spawn when the wave conditions are met.

Damage contribution is tracked per player during the event. The controller can display top contributors while active.

Boss mobiles available in the event content include:

• Mutated Kraken
• Sea Serpent Queen
• Water Overlord
• Water Spider Boss

• Hits:
• High resists and elite special abilities
• Can drop transmogs directly (configured as 5% for some items)
• Flags reward systems for:
  1. Ocean armor transmog eligibility
  2. Maelstrom artifact eligibility
